Senior Full-Stack Developer 
Contract:12 Months
Location: Victoria (On-site with Travel Requirements)
Citizenship: Australian Citizens 

About the Role

DFP is seeking a skilled Senior Full-Stack Developer to join our Federal Government team, delivering scalable, high-performance web applications using a mix of open-source and commercial technologies. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful public sector projects while working with modern tools across the full technology stack. Travel, including short stays (3–10 days), is an essential part of this role


Key duties and responsibilities 
  • Maintain, develop and test Client’s software in accordance with annual work plans.
  • Install Client’s software and associated software on appropriate hardware and on cloud systems. Maintain data back-ups in Amazon web services systems.
  • Assist with the rescue and/or archival of data and format data to software specific requirements.
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining robust web applications end-to-end
  • Building responsive, interactive front-end interfaces using JavaScript, HTML, and modern libraries
  • Developing back-end services and APIs using PHP and Python
  • Managing and optimising databases using PostgreSQL
  • Develop relevant software administrator training and reference material, as well as contribute to the delivery of this training.
  • Provide and maintain technical documentation, working with project team members, partner countries, and international collaborators.
  • Consult with the Implementation Partners and other relevant areas for the purposes of obtaining information to support the enhancement of software.
  • Prioritise your development opportunities and competencies. This includes expanding on your technical expertise, as well as deepening your understanding of the needs of the partners and national services.

SKills 
  • Strong experience in PHP, JavaScript, and Python development.
  • Solid back-end experience with PostgreSQL
  • Hands-on experience with AWS (essential)
  • Familiarity with Linux (Ubuntu) and web servers such as Apache
  • Front-end development experience with tools like Bootstrap, Leaflet, and Highcharts
  • Ability to work across both front-end and back-end systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working with both open-source and commercial technologies
