About the Role
You will be responsible for supporting and assisting the Category Manager in all aspects of product planning, indent buy compilation, key account management, sample management, and range preparation. The Category Assistant is responsible for overseeing and managing the retail Health & Beauty lines, collaborating in tandem with a Category Manager to achieve effective results.
Based at our modern Head Office in the heart of the CBD, located within walking distance to Southern Cross station, This is a full-time hybrid role working from home and in the office weekly.

- Taking ownership of the quality of their work, the team environment, and delivery outcomes
- Analysing data to draw insights on product performance and identify actions to address sourcing and promotional activities
- Review pricing and margins master data with the lens of remaining competitive in the marketplace
- Manage the range review and promotional planning processes for your category in conjunction with your supply partners
- Oversees (with the Financial Manager) the budgets and financial performance of the category, ensuring the category P&L is met
Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes
- Demonstrated category/buyers assistant experience within a retail health and beauty environment (preferred)
- Advanced computer literacy skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in entering data
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks
- Thorough understanding of inventory management processes, including demand planning, forecasting, and supplier management
- Analytical skills to interpret data, communicate basic insights, and support performance, along with the ability to simplify insights for broader team support
