  • $63.04 - $71.11 per hour + super
Our Federal Government Client is an independent agency that promotes efficiency and increased transparency in the delivery and funding of public health and aged care services across Australia.
 
The Hospital Policy and Classification Branch is responsible for developing activity-based funding policy across the agency and for working with clinical, technical and jurisdictional stakeholders to develop and maintain clinical classifications, coding standards and business rules associated with the implementation of nationally consistent activity based funding for public hospital services.

The Role:
 
The APS6 Classification Officer reports to the Classification Manager and supports all components of classification development and refinement. This includes technical development of classifications and associated specifications, the interpretation and communication of data and development of metadata. Additional responsibilities include the ability to successfully build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and support project and program management along with operational requirements of the work program
 
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Support the Classification Manager with regards to the delivery of all components of classification development and refinement and all other matters as they arise
  • Technical development of classifications and associated specifications
  • Interpret and communicate data and develop metadata
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Support project and program management and operational requirements of the associated work program.
 
Key capabilities include the following:
  • Qualifications in health, health information management, policy or related fields highly regarded, but not essential.
  • Liaise with internal sections, external agencies, and stakeholders to support cross-agency program planning.
  • Conduct independent research and analysis, preparing draft reports on program activities or project milestones.
  • Manage programs or projects through to implementation, under guidance from senior staff.
  • Carry out tasks independently, following set priorities, practices, and methodologies.
  • Complete work that requires minimal revision prior to final approval.
