Contract Surveillance Officer – Civil & Structural

Position: Contract Surveillance Officer – Civil & Structural 
Level: 4/5 
Location: Perth, WA 
Pay Rate: Flexible, dependent on experience (includes casual loading consideration) 
About the Role: 
We are seeking a diligent and experienced Contract Surveillance Officer to join a dynamic team on a major transport infrastructure project. This role involves performing inspections, internal audits, and carrying out surveillance of contractors’ works to ensure compliance with contract conditions, public safety, rail safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assess contractors' work methodology and construction plans.
- Inspect civil and structural works.
- Ensure compliance with rail safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and report on contractors’ progress and quality of work.
- Identify and manage potential risks associated with civil and structural works.
- Provide assessments on contractor progress payments and variation claims.

Selection Criteria:

Core Competencies:
   - Relevant technical qualification or extensive experience in civil and structural works.
   - Knowledge of rail safety.
   - Extensive experience in supervision of civil and structural works.

Management and Leadership:
   - Strong ability to manage contractual relationships and supervise work independently and within a team.

Communication and Interpersonal:
   - Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
   - Strong relationship management skills.

Analytical and Problem-Solving:
   - Strong investigation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Special Requirements:
   - Physical fitness for duties and ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
   - Current National Police Clearance and a Western Australian 'C' or 'C-A' Class Driver’s Licence.
   - Ability to obtain PTA Individual Access (IA) Track Access Permit.
