Data Migration Specialist
The Data Migration Specialist will support the Enterprise Architect in identifying and migrating data between legacy and new systems. The Data Migration Specialist also provides the technical thought leadership to define data migration strategy and solution design using ETL and/or ELT (Extract-Transform-Load/Extract-Load-Transform) methodology and work on the Indigo Program that is a large-scale transformation program to modernize business capabilities and replace core election ICT systems with a citizen centric, agile technology platform.

The Data Migration Specialist will support the Enterprise Architect in identifying and migrating data between legacy and new systems. Duties
- Design the process, test, and migrate data into a target environment from a multitude of data sources to satisfy agency
- Provide quality data migration plans for approvals and
- Determine process improvement opportunities and apply data quality frameworks, standards and policies.
- Confirm data migration techniques and methodologies to be used, adjust as necessary to adhere to any restrictions and limitations for use of technology or tools.
- Collaborate with project/program teams, to facilitate the build and delivery of workflow solutions utilising approved applications and ensure this is understood across all users.
- Understanding the importance of maintaining positive relationships throughout and beyond the project process. Understand and work to Agile methodologies whilst working concurrently with multiple
- Identify and communicate risks that could impact a successful
- Analyse, document and communicate migration details following implementation to take a constructive approach to lessons learnt and continuous improvement
- Perform additional responsibilities as required and directed by the relevant Director/Team Leader or delegate.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with an emphasis on managing task completion against tight deadlines with the ability to prioritise.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent verbal and written communication.
- Experience working with other data professionals and business stakeholders to understand the existing data sets and tools and the ability to build good working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent data-migration projects with a high attention to detail, while maintaining excellent quality and superior customer service.
- Demonstrated experience working successfully with Agile
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in ICT or a related field.
- Background in IT, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or other related discipline.
- Technical knowledge in data-movement scripting, with structured and unstructured data.
- Applicants must hold Australian citizenship.
- Be able to obtain NV1 Clearance
