About the Role
With the exciting Aquatic Redevelopment Project—featuring a brand-new 50-metre pool—set for completion in March 2026, we’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Facilities Manager to lead operations and strategic planning at our client’s leisure centre. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of community recreation by overseeing the launch and resourcing of upgraded aquatic and dry-side facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Request for Quote (RFQ) process for a new Leisure Management Software System, from documentation to implementation.
  • Develop workforce plans and recruit/train staff ahead of the Aquatic Redevelopment opening.
  • Create a comprehensive Year One Business Plan for aquatic operations.
  • Oversee daily operations of aquatics, gym, and dry-side facilities, ensuring full compliance.
  • Drive strategic planning, financial performance, and community engagement.
Candidate Requirements

Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  • Diploma or higher in Recreation Management, Business Administration, or similar.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience, including 3+ years in a senior role in recreation/aquatics.
  • WA C class driver’s licence, Senior First Aid, and Swimming Pool Operators certificate.
  • Proven skills in strategic planning, budgeting, and facility coordination.
  • Strong leadership, team development, and customer service capabilities.
Technical Skills:
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and facility management systems.
  • Strong financial acumen and business development skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational abilities.
  • Knowledge of WHS and Public Health Regulations.
Desirable Attributes:
  • Experience in regional communities (e.g., Pilbara, Kimberley).
  • Familiarity with inclusive recreation programming.
  • Local Government experience.
  • Marketing and promotional strategy development.
  • Ability to build partnerships with community groups and agencies.
