Our Federal Government client in Canberra aims to undertake a range of activities to make Australia the safest country in the world to connect and conduct business on-line. 

The Opportunity
IT Support System Administrator will support the day-to-day installation, setup, and on-going maintenance and support of IT Systems, products, and related documentation.You shall be engaged in an initial 12 months contract.

Duties includes:

  • Provide provide day-to-day IT support to technical and end users.
  • Mange the design and deployment of IT hardware, software and services.
  • Provide ad hoc technical advice, general IT product support and troubleshooting for end users.
  • Manage the systems documentation, system administration, printer management and communications Room/Desk patchingactivities.
  • Provide support on Laptop management (Imaging, patching, managing asset loan registers, help with other laptop issues).
Required Skills and Experience
  • Experience in managing IT services (software, hardware, network infrastructure)
  • Ability to design and maintain IT system solutions
  • Knowledge on Network administration (Switches and firewalls) , network security skills
  • Knowledge on Linux, Windows OS, system administration and server administration skills
  • Good understanding of the ISM and ACSC’s “Strategies to Mitigate Cyber Security Incidents”
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills with an ability to work independently and prioritise work accordingly.
