Job description

Are you an experienced Payroll professional looking to join a dynamic team? We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Officer to manage end-to-end payroll processing for a large workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Oversee the complete payroll cycle for a workforce of 2,000+ employees on a fortnightly schedule.

·        Ensure payroll systems are accurately maintained and employee records are kept up to date.

·        Provide timely and effective responses to payroll inquiries from staff and management.

·        Monitor and manage leave balances, sick leave, and overtime reporting.

·        Interpret and apply relevant awards, agreements, and contracts for overtime and shift allowances.

·        Prepare and deliver reports to meet internal requirements and statutory compliance.

·        Calculate and process termination payments, salary adjustments, and back pay.

·        Administer superannuation contributions, work cover, and other payroll-related deductions.

·        Coordinate salary packaging arrangements and liaise with external providers.

·        Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

 

About You:

·        Hands-on experience with time and attendance systems.

·        Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.

·        Strong numerical aptitude with excellent data entry and reconciliation skills.

·        Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities.

·        Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.

·        Solid understanding of payroll legislation and award interpretation.

·        Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

·        Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy and Advanced Excel

 

Desirable:

·        3–5 years’ experience in payroll processing and administration.

·        Background in health, or not-for-profit sectors or community services.

·        Knowledge of Preceda and SAP systems.

·        Certificate IV in Payroll Administration or equivalent experience.
