Job description

  • Must be able to obtain Baseline Security Clearance
DFP Recruitment is seeking an experienced Platform Technical Lead to support the establishment of a new dedicated IT Service Management function within a specialised government agency. This role will focus on creating processes and governance on with the agencies AWS ecosystem and requires strong Kubernetes skills and deep ITIL 4 knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operational support of Client’s digital platforms, with a strong presence in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Be accountable for managing the adherence to Government security frameworks such as the ISM, PSPF, and E8.
  • Lead the implementation of a new ML Ops environment, with the assistance of in-house ML experts and Data Scientists.
  • Uplift our Kubernetes infrastructure.
  • Actively contribute to strategic direction and development of ICT services supporting its core business.
  • Identification of areas for streamlining improvement for greater efficiency and implementation of new and emerging technologies.
  • Oversee a small team of engineers and developers in an Agile and cross-disciplinary environment. Assist with the coordination of operational requests and issues.
Required Skills
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principals, preferably within Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Strong understanding of Cloud computing concepts
  • Strong understanding of Service Orchestration and Service Discovery, Kubernetes
  • Experience in utilising monitoring and logging tools, CloudWatch, CloudTrail
  • Unix-based shell scripting
  • Experience with Python scripting and serverless workloads, AWS Lambda
  • Experience providing technical leadership, preferably experience with managing a team.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and common security practices
  • GitOps & DevOps using Atlassian and Microsoft/Github products.
  • Experience using common scripting and mark-up languages, YAML, JSON, Markdown, PlantUML.
  • Experience managing SDLC using Agile methodology and supporting tools (e.g., Jira)
  • Experience with Machine Learning platform implementation and operations.
