Job description

In these 2 roles, you will be responsible for the provision of accurate advice and recommendations on complex Procurement Matters. You will also provide support in the following areas:  
  • Establishing new panel or other arrangements to meet division specialist technical support needs.    
  • Supporting division staff to build procurement competency by seeking support from the department central procurement team as required.   
  • Establishing an Agency procurement strategy for FYs 23/24 and 24/25 in accordance with division and department business planning objectives.  
  • Establishing project management mechanisms for the effective implementation and oversight of division procurement strategies.  
  • Reporting the status of procurement activities to division leadership and executive staff.  
  • Supporting procurement planning in-line with department procurement policy.  
  • Preparing documentation for division procurements and focus on continuous improvements

Our ideal candidates will:  
  • Have in-depth knowledge of and experience in complex commercial contract management and Commonwealth Procurement Framework.  
  • Have a sound understanding of the PGPA Act 2013 and Rule 2014, as well as Commonwealth Procurement Rules.  
  • Be highly motivated, organised, proactive and display excellent management skills. 
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills, including strong emotional intelligence, resilience and adaptability, tailoring approaches as required. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to influence, negotiate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to identify best fit organisational solutions.  
  • Think innovatively to identify and enable opportunities for continuous improvement.  
  • Respond flexibly to changing situations, including using sound judgement under pressure, to ensure the success of key deliverables.  
  • Display an understanding of the ‘bigger picture’ to identify any emerging opportunities or threats in relation to your program of work. 
  • Have the ability to develop and interpret documentation under limited direction. 
  • Have a Cert IV or diploma in procurement and contract management or equivalent experience in the same field.  
  • Possess sound commercial and business acumen. 
  • Collaborate with applicable division stakeholders to deliver procurement related services that are fit for purpose and assist in delivering efficient and effective procurement outcomes.  
  • Support division staff to access standing offer Panels.
