Project Manager – Commercial Leases
12-Month Contract | Canberra, ACT

We are partnering with a prominent national cultural institution to appoint an experienced Project Manager – Commercial Leases to support a major, government-funded capital works program.
Working within the Capital Works team, you will lead the planning, sourcing and negotiation of temporary commercial leasing solutions to ensure operational continuity during significant infrastructure works. This includes securing short-term office accommodation for staff and, where required, identifying compliant off-site storage solutions for high-value and culturally significant assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support commercial lease negotiations, including incentives, fit-out and make-good provisions
  • Manage due diligence and legal inputs to protect commercial and institutional interests
  • Provide clear advice and briefings to senior stakeholders on risks and value-for-money considerations
  • Coordinate with internal teams, property advisors and government stakeholders to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions
About You:
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial leasing, property project management or accommodation strategy
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving value-for-money outcomes
  • Experience working under Commonwealth Procurement Rules or similar governance frameworks
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and written communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple workstreams in a complex environment
