Property Maintenance Officer | State Government | Ongoing Contract
We’re seeking a capable Property Maintenance Officer to support a busy asset and property portfolio based in Cockburn. This is a hands-on coordination role — not a trade role — focused on managing maintenance activities, liaising with contractors, and keeping property operations running smoothly.
If you enjoy problem-solving, dealing with stakeholders, and making sure maintenance works are done properly, this will be right up your alley. Rate: $65-72 per hour plus Super (depending on skills and experience)
Hours: Full-time
Location: Cockburn (with some work in O’Connor)
Duration: Initial 3–6-month contract with possible extension
Type: Temporary casual contract (no leave – casual loading inc in rate)
Start: Immediate

Title: Property Maintenance Officer
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day property maintenance, relocations, and minor modifications
- Issue maintenance briefs to contractors and review quotes for value-for-money
- Monitor contractor performance, progress, and quality of works
- Conduct work quality inspections and basic safety audits
- Maintain property and asset records in line with internal systems
- Support small property-related projects, including scoping and logistics
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external service providers
- Provide general property and logistics support as required
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- A trade or maintenance background, or experience in a similar property/maintenance coordination role (desirable, not essential)
- A positive, proactive attitude — you see issues early and deal with them
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including contractors and internal teams
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities without constant supervision
- Current WA Driver’s Licence
- Experience in property management, maintenance coordination, or facilities-related roles
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Immediate start opportunity
- Short-term contract with genuine extension potential
- Work within a large, structured government environment
- Varied role — office-based with site exposure (no two days the same)
