Job description

On behalf of a State Government Department, we are looking for a personable and professional Receptionist to provide front of house support.
The role is looking to start ASAP. The assignment is initially to the end of October, with potential for extension. It is based in the Sydney CBD paying $38.40 per hour + super.

Duties will include:
  • Greet all visitors and ensure they comply with internal administrative processes, and are attended to by the appropriate staff member
  • Be the first point of contact for all telephone enquiries and walk in visitors, ensuring that they are responded to in a professional manner and referred to the appropriate staff member
  • Provide effective and efficient reception services in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner
  • Manage all incoming correspondence, scanning incoming mail into the relevant folders within the records management system and monitor relevant agency email accounts
  • Respond to telephone enquiries, escalate and redirect calls as required to ensure the provision of timely and accurate information
  • Ensure the regular maintenance and preparation of meeting rooms and provide support as required in relation to meetings and events
  • Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to personal information and privacy requirements at all times
 
To be considered for this role you will demonstrate:
  • Strong administrative and/or Receptionist skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide information to and assist a range of stakeholders
  • Competency with IT systems and excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Experience working in a Government setting would be advantageous
