Job description

  • Locations: Surry Hills (NSW), Geelong (VIC), Richmond (VIC)
  • 12-month contract with possibility of extension
  • $602.55 per day + super
  • 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

A Federal Government agency is currently seeking two experienced EL1 Scrum Masters to lead and coordinate sensitive and high-impact projects. These roles will involve managing a range of complex processes and ensuring alignment with strategic and operational outcomes.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Manage project scope, timelines, and forward planning.
  • Work within Agile methodologies to support feature design and align with Waterfall approaches for forward planning of key design dates.
  • Use project management tools to map out deliverables and dependencies.
  • Monitor overall team progress, capture project status, and proactively address risks, issues, and actions.
  • Maintain RAID logs using consistent templates and tools.
  • Support Domain Owners in resource planning using standard tools and templates.
  • Coordinate sprints, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings.
  • Coach team members in both Agile and Waterfall frameworks to increase project maturity.
  • Collaborate with Product and Domain Owners to manage product backlogs and handle new requests.
  • Foster a productive and accountable team environment.
  • Ensure project governance aligns with agency frameworks and escalate issues as necessary.
About You:
  • Strong experience managing project scope and timelines.
  • Proficient in both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
  • Skilled in coordinating Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint planning.
  • Experienced in coaching teams in Scrum and Agile practices.
  • Capable of managing backlogs and prioritizing new requests.
  • Able to guide teams to higher performance and maturity in delivery practices.
  • Comfortable managing governance and ensuring compliance with agency frameworks.
  • Flexible and proactive in supporting cross-functional squads.
