Job description

We are seeking a driven and experienced Senior Associate to join a reputable South Australian legal firm at their Port Lincoln office. This is a rare opportunity to work in a regional centre where you will manage a diverse and challenging legal practice, including commercial law, property, leasing, wills, and estates. The role is ideal for someone who already lives in Port Lincoln or is willing to relocate, with an understanding of the unique dynamics of country towns. An ability to build strong client relationships and community connections is essential.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a varied legal portfolio across commercial, property, leasing, and Wills & Estates matters.
  • Lead and mentor junior lawyers and support staff, delegating effectively while providing guidance.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, with a deep understanding of the local community and business landscape.
  • Deliver technically excellent legal advice with a focus on practical, commercial outcomes.
  • Meet individual KPIs while contributing to the success of the wider team.
  • Participate in business development and local networking to grow the practice.
  • Contribute to team planning, risk management, and operational processes.
 
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 4+ years PAE, with experience at a Senior Associate level.
  • Proven ability to delegate, mentor, and supervise other lawyers.
  • Strong technical expertise across multiple legal areas.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client management skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality legal advice and outcomes.
  • Commercially minded, adaptable, and efficient in managing workload.
  • Strong understanding of how country towns operate, including client relationships and local business networks.
