Job description

Due to exceptional growth our client, a debt management services business based in Melbourne CBD are seeking an experienced Collections Team Leader to join their dynamic team!  

Reporting through to the Head of Collections & Recoveries you will be responsible for the hands-on management and supervision of debt collection process and the recoveries team. Your primary focus will be on the end-to-end collections cycle, ensuring optimal collection and recovery performance while nurturing client relationships. You’ll also be responsible for performance reporting and monitoring.

Key accountabilities for the role:
  • Functional ownership of the team of Collection & Recovery staff 
  • Setting of strategy & continuous improvement of the collection & recovery functions 
  • Ownership of vendor partner contracts and delivery performance (debt management vendors, credit agencies, offshore delivery vendors etc.) 
  • Working with clients to enhance and refine services to ensure a mutually successful and positive relationship
  • Operational Leadership & performance management - reviewing performance management framework and associated technology.
  • Personally, manage critical or high net value accounts
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Reporting & Analysis
  • Risk Management 
  • Maximising & protecting cash flow contribution with a focus revenue retention and growth 
  • Communicating the importance of effective information security management and of conforming to the information security management system requirements.  
Skills and Experience:
  • Tertiary qualification in Finance or related business discipline 
  • Proven leadership and staff performance management experience – ideally in the debt recovery industry.
  • Experience with credit functions, finance and accounting, and understanding of business drivers 
  • High level interpersonal skills
  • Stakeholder management and negotiation skills

Commencing immediately this is a full-time permanent position with hours of work rostered Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work from home.
