Job description

Title: Town Maintenance Officer

Rate: $45 per hour plus Super
Location: Mundijong, WA
Duration: Temporary assignment for up to 3 months with possible extension.
Hours: 9-day fortnight - usual hours 6 am – 3 pm then 10th day as RDO.

Type: Temporary casual contract (no leave entitlements – casual loading included rate)

What's required
Town Maintenance Officer to assist in the daily maintenance of Parks and Reserves, roads, drainage, reticulation systems and other works within the Shire town sites and surrounds. To operate plant and equipment as required as part of the Shire’s town maintenance workforce.

Background information / Compatibility requirements
• Operates self-propelled or tractor mounted mowers or other turf maintenance equipment.
• Undertakes horticultural duties such as garden maintenance, pruning, replanting, mulching and litter collection.
• Apply pesticides and herbicides in broadacre (verge), sports field park settings using manual and mechanical sprayers
(ute mounted spray rigs).
• Applies fetilizers, pesticides/herbicides and soil amendments to parks, gardens and reserves, as required.
• Assists with maintenance activities associated with sports fields, playgrounds and active spaces.

Essential:
MR / HR Truck licence
Ride on Mower Experience
Experience working in outdoor environments.
Demonstrated experience within a similar role or industry.
Desired Outcomes ('Nice to haves', Conditions & Warranties, SLA's, Project benefits)

Desirable:
Cert III Horticulture or Parks and Gardens.
Previous experience within Local Government.
Forklift, Dogging, Rigging HRWL
