Job description
Our client is looking for an experienced Network Administrator to fill a short-term contract position from the 20th of December 2023 through to the end of January 2024. This is a senior technical role responsible for the architecture, administration, maintenance, and support of the Agency’s network and data communications infrastructure to support service delivery in multiple client environments.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
· Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships both internal and external to ensure operational service levels are maintained
· Providing timely customer service and solutions to client requests
· Ensuring end-to-end service delivery for local and enterprise infrastructure
· Coordinating contracted telecommunications/networking providers to manage the WAN network
· Contributing to the Agency’s Incident Management by providing second-level support for all network-related incidents
· Installing, configuring, testing, optimizing, implementing, and commissioning enterprise infrastructure components in accordance with approved resource capacity allocation
· Coordinating changes to Firewall rules and providing instruction and approvals for Agency vendors
· Performing administrative functions and carrying out network troubleshooting, and designing new solutions as required
To be considered for the role you will need to have 5+ years of experience working with IT networks as well as demonstrated experience analysing IT systems and the formulation, design, and provision of appropriate solutions and improvements. You will also need to have experience providing expertise and support of use of methods and tools (2nd level of support) within the technology sphere.
Ideally, you will have experience with the following:
· Cisco and Juniper access switch and firewall configuration and support (Cisco CCNA and Juniper JNCIA are preferred)
· Web Proxy (SOPHUS UTM)
· Meraki network install and support
· Network monitoring tools (i.e., Kiwi Syslog, PRTG, servmon)
· Citrix ADC
