Job description

This APS4 Administration Officer position with Baseline Clearance, is located at the Adelaide Airport and is working for one of our Federal Government clients. You will support the achievement of operational outcomes in line with the Department’s corporate plan. At commencement you will be working 37.5 hours per week in the office but after 3 months, you may work a hybrid model with a maximum of 3 days per week from home.

Part of a small team, the successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with the ability to adapt to change and contribute to decision making processes. They will also be required to demonstrate high level of judgement and expertise to interpret and analyse information from a range of sources. Duties include:
  • Contributing to pathway human resources functions including data entry and maintaining recruitment registers, drafting recruitment briefing and procurement documents, consulting with cargo operations pathway business areas, utilising departmental recruitment systems and supporting pathway recruitment and procurement processes.
  • Contributing to the coordination and management of branch finances which may include invoicing and contract creation.
  • Monitoring, responding, and disseminating electronic mail from the team generic inbox in a timely manner.
  • Contributing to plans and objectives for short-term tasks of the work area; and team objectives that support pathway operations.
  • Communicating (both verbally and in writing), liaising, negotiating with, and responding to internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies and industry.
  • Problem solving and referring matters to an appropriate manager where required. 
Successful skills and capabilities: 
  • Strong written communication skills, including drafting emails and client correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate to a range of different people in a regulatory environment, building collaborative and productive relationships.
  • Ability to gather information, problem solve and make a judgement on the next course of action, particularly as it relates to the interpretation of regulations and guidelines.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and adapt to changing priorities to achieve sound outcomes in a fast paced and challenging environment.
  • Ability to use initiative and work independently to meet workload demands while navigating through changing priorities.
  • Ability to respond positively to change, remain flexible during times of change and uncertainty, and embrace business improvement opportunities.
  • Digital literacy skills to confidently learn and utilise the department’s systems.
  • Intermediate level of Ms Word and Ms Excel
  • Ability to maintain a strong work ethic with the ability to set and deliver on priorities.

  • Behave professionally, using good judgement and common sense.
  • Work as an effective and supportive team member, including the ability to work as part of a geographically dispersed team.

Please note: this temporary role is with one of our Federal Government clients. Therefore, you must be an Australian Citizen to be eligible to apply. In addition, a current Baseline Clearance is required as well as a National Police Check.
