Our Client is a Federal Government body that supports Australians and their families by valuing a positive contemporary attitude to disability.
 
The Role:
As a Privacy Assistant, you will be working within the Legal Services team to provide operational and administrative support that is informed and directed by a sound knowledge of privacy legislation and policies.
 
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Remediating a range of privacy complaints and incidents in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring accurate recordkeeping.
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Undertaking projects on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Maintaining excellent working relationships with clients and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting the implementation of new systems, processes and practical tools within the Privacy team.
  • Building capability and expertise within the team, sharing knowledge and awareness across the Agency and working in accordance with the highest professional and ethical standards.
About you:
  • Knowledge of the Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act) would be highly regarded.
  • Competency, or ability to develop competency, in working with requirements of the Privacy Act.
  • Experience coordinating and responding to incidents and complaints in accordance with Privacy obligations.
  • Ability to respond to and prioritise competing and often urgent requests in a calm and efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards and accuracy.
  • Competent with IT Systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Having a strong interest or previous experience with the Disability Sector would be an advantage.
WFH up to 2 days per week available following training.
