Job description

Our client is currently seeking an APS5 & APS6 Learning and Development Officer to join the team within a Federal Government Agency based in the Adelaide CBD.

The Workforce and Capability (WAC) Branch support the Agency to determine resource requirements. The branch source people with the skills and cultural fit to best deliver a world-leading Scheme. They enable an inclusive, capable, and engaged workforce.
 
The branch leads a range of programs, including learning and development initiatives such as foundational skills development, the Graduate Development Program, service delivery training, and leadership and management development. They manage culture and inclusion initiatives such as staff engagement programs, the Employee Experience project and the annual Agency-wide APS Census. The branch also lead organisational development initiatives such as talent, succession, performance and reward and recognition program such as the Celebrating Brilliance program (Light Up).

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
 
  • Strategically consulting with a wide range of stakeholders and supporting the development of training content, on the job components and elements that support best practice 70:20:10 solutions.
  • Providing recommendations and developing solutions covering a wide area of capability design and development activities, including learning needs and performance gap analyses, relationship management, learning design and facilitation.
  • Undertaking consultation across the Agency, developing a range of eLearning and innovative learning solutions.
  • Managing projects and processes, including the development and ongoing maintenance of a portfolio of learning solutions and content.
  • Providing a high level of instructional design capability in the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of learning solutions including:
    • eLearning
    • face to face content such as facilitator guides and learner guides/workbooks
    • self-paced guides
    • on-the-job learning tools and best practice blended solutions that may include Videos on Demand (VoDs), Virtual classrooms, etc.
  • Developing and monitoring accessible training packages that meet WCAG2.0 AA standards.
  • Collaborating and building productive partnerships with stakeholders to ensure solutions are appropriately evaluated, feedback is incorporated and solutions remain effective, responsive and relevant.
 The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: 
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and an ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles
  • Learning & development project management
  • Developing and managing learning & development strategies and frameworks
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Demonstrated workplace learning background and experience in developing a range of learning solutions using varying learning formats and usingblended learning strategies
  • An understanding of or lived experience in the field of disability is highly desirable. 
This role is at the APS5 & APS6 level equivalent offering $55.24 - $60.26 per hour + 11% super. The rate of pay is casually loaded, as you will not be accruing annual or sick leave.
