APS5/6 Project Support Officers

  • $55 - $70ph + Super
  • Contract until June 30 with extensions
About the division:
The Transforming Program Administration for Schools and Universities Division is responsible for the delivery of the Education Funding System (EFS) Project and the oversight of the department’s IT Strategy.
The EFS Project will modernise the technology delivering the end-to-end entitlement management for schools and higher education providers. It will transform the department’s business capabilities and improve stakeholders’ - schools and higher education providers - digital interactions necessary for program delivery.

Reporting to the Director of the Education Funding System (EFS) Project Governance and Management Team, the Project Support Officer will:
  • Maintain and apply the departmental frameworks, processes and procedures required for the successful delivery of the EFS project.
  • Develop and support the delivery of relevant project, governance, and assurance.
  • Undertake a wide range of administrative support activities including secretariat, brief and paper development, procurement, recruitment and contract management activities, and project and financial reporting.
The Department is seeking individuals with the following skills and capabilities:
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, including ability to meet deadlines with competing priorities and delivering work to a high standard with good attention to
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a good communication
  • Ability to draw on a range of reference materials to prepare detailed reports both periodically and ad-hoc.
  • Ability to make decisions with some autonomy and undertake work of moderate complexity under limited supervision.
  • Ability to analyse reports and information and identify and contribute to the resolution of issues and problems
The successful candidate will exercise good judgement, demonstrate initiative, have strong written and oral communication skills and be able to manage urgent tasks with short time frames when required.

Security
The following essential checks/clearances are required to perform the role:

Pre-Engagement Check - this is a mandatory pre-employment security screening process. All employees and contractors of Agency must undertake a Pre-Engagement Check. Baseline Security Clearance - To be considered for this position, you must be willing to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
