We are partnering with a Federal Government Department to engage an experienced APS6 Program Support Officer – Finance. This role provides high-quality financial, analytical and program support across multiple program areas, helping drive effective decision-making and ensuring strong financial governance. This is a 12‑month contract with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and provide advice on financial matters including budgets, forecasts and financial performance.
- Investigate and resolve complex financial issues to support program delivery and informed decision‑
- Uplift financial capability and literacy across program areas by improving processes, systems and reporting.
- Prepare briefing materials, submissions, reports and correspondence for senior executives.
- Ensure compliance with governance requirements, delegations, policies, legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Provide strategic financial and operational advice to internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute flexibly to section and branch priorities and undertake additional tasks when needed.
- Strong understanding of Commonwealth Financial and Budgeting Frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in dynamic environments.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills with high attention to detail.
- Well‑developed stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to interpret and analyse financial and numerical data.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, initiative and problem‑solving capability.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Competency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint and records management systems.
- Experience supporting or delivering projects or programs within a PMO or project support environment.
- Understanding of ICT operations in medium–large organisations, including managing resources and budgets.
