Category Manager – Ports Infrastructure
Location: Fremantle, WA
Contract: 12-month maximum term
Salary: $150,000 + 12% superannuation
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Start: ASAP (notice periods considered)

About the Role

Our client  is seeking an experienced Category Manager to lead the end-to-end management of the Ports Infrastructure category. This strategic role is pivotal in driving procurement outcomes, optimising supplier performance, and ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full procurement lifecycle: planning, market research, tendering, contract formation, management, and close-out.
  • Develop and execute category strategies in collaboration with stakeholders and business sponsors.
  • Oversee contract development and administration, ensuring compliance with Fremantle Ports’ policies and WA Government requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance, implement improvement initiatives, and drive cost, quality, and service excellence.
  • Provide expert advice to resolve disputes, mitigate risks, and maintain robust contracting practices.
About You
  • Tertiary qualification and/or commercial experience in Strategic Procurement, Commerce, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in procurement management across multiple categories, with expertise in industrial, civil, and marine construction projects.
  • Strong capability in managing high-risk, complex contracts within large organisations.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Highly developed written communication skills for preparing and presenting complex documentation
