Data Architect
DFP Recruitment is seeking an experienced Data Architect to join our federal Government Client team to provide thought Leadership in Data Architecture, Data Modelling, Design, Integration as well as be responsible for modelling and governing semantic data structures, ontologies and knowledge graphs to enable consistent, high-quality and future-ready data architecture.

The Key duties and responsibilities will be as below but not limited to:
- Architect Data solutions to support our client’s projects / programs business needs maximising the data and analytics ecosystem and associated technologies.
- An analytical mindset with experience in KRR - Knowledge Representation and Reasoning including designing and implementing ontologies, taxonomies, or semantic models to support AI/ML applications and has the ability to assess complex data relationships and structures systematically.
- Curiosity & Learning Mindset with interest in semantic technologies, ontologies and knowledge graph.
- Ability to integrate KRR models with AI/ML pipelines, enabling improved prediction, classification, or recommendation outcomes.
- Problem-solving ability to identify data inconsistencies and propose (or input into) potential solutions.
- Adaptability, to be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving data models.
- Attention to detail with accuracy of data requirements and models.
- Manage productive stakeholder relationships and associated risks.
- Develop an agreed work-plan of key success indicators, milestones and outcomes.
- Regular reporting against success and effort.
- Provide strategic data deliverables, advice and guidance.
- Develop frameworks, guidelines and other relevant data related assets.
- Manage scope and direct a team in the delivery of outcomes.
- Familiarity with data mesh, data fabric, or modern data architectures.
- Experience in AI/ML model operationalisation.
- Experience working with knowledge graphs in enterprise or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and information architecture best practices.
- Understanding of ethical AI principles and data privacy frameworks.
- A working understanding of, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of data security controls.
- Provide guidance on Conceptual, Logical and Physical data models.
- Experience with Graph database ontology and knowledge graph like RDF, OWL, SPARQL, SHACL or GraphQL.
- Experience with the development of ontologies and taxonomies.
- Experience with semantic technologies (SPARQL, Protégé, Neo4j, GraphDB, or similar).
- Mapping structured & unstructured data to semantic models.
- Mapping data lineage, standards & governance and developing detailed data artefacts for ontology and data models.
