About the Department
By understanding consumer’s needs, attitudes, behaviours and motivations, social and market research is used to inform all the branch’s advertising, marketing and media activities; it is used to guide messaging, communications outputs and develop the most effective behaviour change approach.

About the Role
Working within the Strategic Communication’s Branch you will be responsible for turning data into information which can guide and improve the Branch's communication strategies and tactics. The branch works on a wide range of health topics such as mental health and wellbeing, pregnancy, alcohol and oral health.

Skills and Experience
  • Manage the end-to-end market research process from writing market research briefs, evaluating proposals and making sure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Provide advice on market research design, data collection and analysis
  • Produce easy-to-read/understand research summaries that tell the ‘research story’ based on collected data
  • Ability to work both as part of team, as well as independently to achieve organisational goals
  • Ability to effectively prioritise multiple concurrent tasks
  • Use statistical software to manage and organise information
  • Experience with SPSS, Q or a similar program
