About the Opportunity
Our Client is embarking on a significant Safety in Practice uplift, aimed at strengthening Work Health and Safety (WHS) systems, documentation, and assurance—particularly across high‑risk work, SOP standardisation, training alignment and integration of controls.
To support this important program, we are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to translate agreed safety positions into clear, consistent, and publishable operational artefacts. This is a hands‑on delivery role requiring someone who thrives in complex environments and can bring structure, clarity, and integration to WHS documentation and processes.
The engagement is expected to deliver approximately 12–13 weeks of Senior Business Analyst support, with full-time engagement commencing the week of the end of March 2026.

- enabling consistent, integrated WHS documentation and controls; and
- ensuring SOPs, hazards, PPE, training, and escalation pathways operate cohesively as a system.
You will collaborate closely with the Assistant Director People & Safety Services, the Safety team, and uplift project resources, including a Level 5 officer coordinating consultation and day‑to‑day activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate the Safety in Practice project plan into defined business analysis activities, deliverables, and dependencies.
- Work closely with the WHS Manager to embed safety intent, priorities, and sequencing across all documentation.
- Provide structured business analysis across uplift workstreams to ensure alignment between SOPs, controls, training, and assurance.
- Review and rationalise existing WHS documentation to identify gaps, duplication, inconsistencies, and improvement needs.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive documentation map outlining authoritative, revised, consolidated, or retired documents.
- Lead the redevelopment and standardisation of SOPs, ensuring clarity of controls, PPE, responsibilities, escalation points, and linked hazards/training.
- Build and maintain cross‑referencing between key WHS artefacts such as SOPs, hazard registers, JSAs, PPE standards, and competency requirements.
- Support integration of SOP and control changes into training and competency frameworks, including mapping to task-based training.
- Prepare draft materials and analysis for consultation, accurately capturing feedback and incorporating agreed outcomes.
- Deliver high‑quality, auditable, and integrated business analysis outputs with strong version control and documentation standards.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to resolve complex documentation, control, and process issues.
- Proven expertise in business analysis techniques, including process mapping, options analysis, and structured documentation redesign.
- Experience delivering business analysis in regulated, risk‑based, or compliance‑driven environments.
- Demonstrated capability in developing, rationalising, and standardising SOPs, procedures, and control documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support consultation, manage resistance, and work effectively within governance frameworks.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high‑quality outcomes within agreed timeframes, supported by knowledge of public‑sector governance and work practices.
