Our Fed Gov client is seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to join their high-performing and fast paced team as a Senior Database Developer.
Must be an Australian Citizen.
Travel with short stays (3-10 days) is an essential part of this role. The successful candidate will also be required carry out their duties with limited supervision.

Key duties and responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Senior Database Developer include but are not limited to:
- Maintain, develop and test Client’s software in accordance with annual work plans.
- Install Client’s software and associated software on appropriate hardware and on cloud systems. Maintain data back-ups in Amazon web services systems.
- Assist with the rescue and/or archival of data and format data to software specific requirements.
- Develop relevant software administrator training and reference material, as well as contribute to the delivery of this training.
- Provide and maintain technical documentation, working with project team members, partner countries, and international collaborators.
- Consult with the Implementation Partners and other relevant areas for the purposes of obtaining information to support the enhancement of software.
- Prioritise your development opportunities and competencies. This includes expanding on your technical expertise, as well as deepening your understanding of the needs of the partners and national services.
- Comply with all work, health and safety policies and procedures, and take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of employees, contractors and visitors who may be affected by your conduct.

Mandatory
The Candidate will have:
- Demonstrated working knowledge and experience in the design, development and coding of web database applications using a variety of Open Source and Commercial technologies, particularly Linux (Ubuntu), PostgreSQL, Python, HTML/PHP and JavaScript, Experience with Amazon Web Services, Apache, Bootstrap, Leaflet and Highcharts advantageous.
- Experience developing IT and CDMS specific training and reference material for developing countries, as well as experience delivering this type of training.
- Experience in the evaluation and analysis of spatio-temporal datasets originating from manual and automated Pacific observations.
- Sound inter-personal skills are required, and the ability to liaise with a range of different personnel. Demonstrated team working skills and experience of working in a team framework are essential, and the availability to travel internationally, if necessary, would be an advantage.
- Demonstrated time management skills and self-motivation, and the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.
