Job Title: Senior Traffic Management Support Officer
Employer: DFP Recruitment Client
Position Type: 6 month Full Time Casual Temporary Contract
Pay Rate: $50 – 54 per hour + Super
Location: Perth WA, 6000
Role Overview: In this role, you support Route Managers by improving route performance, optimising traffic signal timings using SCATS, and analysing data to identify and resolve traffic inefficiencies. You also review traffic modelling to ensure optimal signal performance.
 
Key Responsibilities;
  • Provide technical support to Route Managers in the development of measures to improve less complex route performance and optimisation strategies.
  • Monitor the operation of traffic signal settings, utilising SCATS (Sydney Co-ordinated Adaptive Traffic System)
  • Provide technical support in the design, implementation, review, and optimisation of traffic signal timing to improve traffic efficiency.
  • Analyse performance data and reports; and monitor route performance to identify deficiencies and determining potential interventions to improve route performance for all road users.
  • Undertake and review traffic modelling to ensure individual and networked traffic signals are performing optimally for traffic management purposes.
 
 
Essential to be successful in this role:  
  • Ability to perform intersection and corridor traffic operations analysis using tools such as Sidra Intersection and LinSig.
  • Strong knowledge of traffic signal design, traffic operations, and transportation planning
  • Demonstrable experience in data analytics as it relates to traffic engineering
  • Ability to review development applications in relation to traffic impact on the clients infrastructure and road network
  • Current valid NPC or ability to obtain one
 
Desirable:
  • Some knowledge of microsimulation modelling such as VISIM or AimSun advantageous
  • Knowledge of Sydney Coordinated Adaptive Traffic System (SCATS) advantageous
