Job description

Systems Architect
  • $110 / Hourly / Ex Super              
  • City location
  • 12 – month contract
About the role
The System Architect plays a critical role in shaping the technical direction of an organisation and ensuring that its systems are robust, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholder.
 
Duties
  • Develop and design the overall architecture of complex systems, including hardware, software, networks, and data.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyse system requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives whilst providing technical guidance to development teams, ensuring the implementation of the architectural vision.
  • Assess and select appropriate technologies, platforms, and tools to build and maintain the system and ensure seamless integration between various system components, including third-party software and services.
  • Design for scalability and performance, considering factors like load balancing, caching, and distributed computing with implementing robust security measures to protect the system from vulnerabilities and cyber threats.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of the system architecture, design decisions, and best practices ensuring that the system architecture complies with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Lead efforts to identify and resolve complex technical issues that may arise during implementation or operation and develop detailed work-based structures for the delivery of the projects.
Desired Skills  
  • Extensive knowledge of various technologies, including programming languages, databases, cloud platforms, and networking protocols.
  • Expertise in architectural patterns and design principles, such as microservices, service-oriented architecture (SOA), and event-driven architecture.
  • Convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders with advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Deep understanding of security best practices and the ability to integrate security measures into the system architecture.
Application Requirements 
  • Applicants must hold Australian citizenship and an active NV1 security clearance or having the ability to obtain.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is required.
  • 7 + years of experience in software development and system architecture, with a track record of designing and implementing complex systems.
