Are you a proactive WHS professional looking to make a meaningful impact in a close-knit community? We are seeking a Work Health & Safety (WHS) Advisor to join a progressive Regional Council in New South Wales, supporting a strong safety culture across diverse operational environments.
 
Reporting to the Manager People & Wellbeing, this role will see you partner with leaders and teams to drive practical safety outcomes across both office and field-based settings.
 
About the Role

This is a predominantly office-based position with regular site visits across Council worksites. A company vehicle will be provided for inspections and stakeholder engagement.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct onsite WHS inspections and audits across operational areas
  • Support injury management and return-to-work processes in collaboration with leaders and external stakeholders
  • Assist with the development, review and implementation of WHS policies, procedures and frameworks
  • Provide guidance on contractor management and compliance requirements
  • Contribute to risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective action tracking
  • Promote safety awareness and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation
About You
  • Demonstrated experience in a WHS Advisor or similar safety-focused role
  • Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, standards and best practice
  • Experience supporting return-to-work and injury management processes
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and coach leaders
  • Current Class C Driver Licence and willingness to travel to sites as required
  • Relevant WHS qualifications (Certificate IV in WHS or higher)
