Job description

Our client, a State Government Department, is looking for an experienced AO6 Senior IT Project Officer, to join their team based in the Brisbane CBD. The successful candidate will be responsible for demonstrating leadership to support IT solutions with the Department.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

·      Delivering high-quality client services to the business and the community through the effective management and application of resources, policies, processes, and technologies

·      Contributing to a high-performing team, displaying, and retaining motivation, collaborating with others, and sharing and encouraging innovative ideas to improve business, process and system initiatives

·      Supporting system development work and maintaining Linux servers; analysing the implications of changing business applications; scheduling and communicating maintenance, and understanding stakeholder requirements

Hands-on technical experience using the following technologies is required –

·      Java (version 8-11,17) with Spring Framework and mandatory spring-boot

·      Knowledge of template engines – Freemarker and Sitemesh

·      Activiti v6 or above BPMN process automation

·      RHEL/Unix shell scripting with knowledge or Perl-Python scripting

·      PostgreSQL database

·      Redis cache (AWS based), Elastic search and message gateways

·      Knowledge of complete AWS DevOps (code commit to deploy) and related cloud automation best practices

To be considered for this role you will have extensive knowledge and experience working in an IT service environment team that supports and maintains critical business applications with demanding service level targets. You will also have sound understanding of ITIL processes, particularly in an incident and problem management capacity, and availability management, change management and release and deployment management. You will also have demonstrated experience in Agile ways of working, including participating in multi-disciplinary teams.

The ability to obtain and maintain a national police clearance is a requirement of this role.
