Job description

Our client is currently seeking APS4, APS5, & APS6 Freedom of Information Officers to join the team within a Federal Government Agency based in the Adelaide CBD.

The Parliamentary, Ministerial and FOI Branch manages the relationship between the Agency and the Minister’s Office. It supports the Agency in meeting the Minister’s objectives and priorities by providing timely, objective and strategic advice. The branch ensures the Agency are meeting their obligations under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) and for the Participant Information Access (PIA) Scheme.
 
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: 
  • Assist, prepare and collate documents required to make FOI decisions in accordance with the FOI Act;
  • Assist and administratively manage the coordination of in-house and outsourced FOI services;
  • Maintaining working relationships with participants and other internal and external stakeholders;
  • Preparing and drafting a range of material including internal and external correspondence and formal decision letters; and
  • Administratively assist in developing systems, processes and practical tools including training to support FOI handling and awareness.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: 
  • Previous experience in an FOI position
  • Applies judgement, intelligence and common sense.

  • Applies and builds appropriate knowledge, skills and experience.
  • Adapts to, supports and manages change.
  • Effectively manages time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
This role is at the APS4, APS5, and APS6 level equivalent offering $43.82 - $60.26 per hour + 11% super. The rate of pay is casually loaded, as you will not be accruing annual or sick leave.
