Job description

Are you passionate about risk management and ready to make a meaningful impact in the public sector? This large Federal Government department are seeking a skilled and proactive APS6 Risk Advisor to join the team for a 6 month assignment with view to extension.

About the Role

As an APS6 Risk Advisor, you will work under limited direction to deliver complex and high-quality risk management services. You’ll play a key role iby identifying, analysing, and mitigating risks across operational and project domains.

This position offers reasonable autonomy and requires initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to interpret legislation and policy to achieve strategic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate risk discussions and reviews with risk owners, applying the Risk Management Framework.
  • Analyse risk trends and develop treatment plans to minimise exposure and harness opportunities.
  • Deliver risk management training and build capability across the organisation.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal risk and assurance teams to manage shared risks and issues.
  • Contribute to risk reporting for Service Delivery stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative support for the Integrated Risk Management System (IRMS).
Essential Criteria
  • Demonstrated experience in risk management.
  • Proven ability to facilitate workshops.
  • Strong understanding of risk frameworks for managing risks, incidents, and issues.
Desirable Criteria
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience in risk reporting and data analysis.
This is a 6-month assignment with view to extension. The successful candidate will be based in Robina with WFH hybrid 60:40 available.

Applicants must hold Australian Citizenship.
This position is offering $60.26 per hour + super and suitable applicants will be available 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
