A large federal government department who is a primary service delivery agency responsible for developing and implementing programs that assist specific community members.

About the role

The Senior Project Officer will support the Assistant Director in the provision of program & project management and reporting and be responsible for the following activities;
  • Undertake administrative responsibilities for the Program Management project including briefings and reporting to support the Assistant Director, and associated responsible officers to meet project delivery requirements
  • Ensure all Program Management program and project work undertaken is conducted in accordance with the governance requirements
  • Actively contribute to Program Management, policies and procedures, research initiatives and Quality Assurance activities as required
  • As a member of the Program Management team, provide support plus agreed contributions to the Clinical Programs & Policy section and act for the Assistant Director as required
Skills and Experience

Applicants must hold or have the ability to obtain a baseline clearance to be eligible for this position
  • Highly effective communications and interpersonal skills
  • Time management and coordination capability with relevant experience
  • Experience in government writing e.g. briefs, submissions and reports
  • Experience with the Microsoft Suite of products including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in project support and coordination
  • Experience with Microsoft Access or similar database platforms
  • Experience with program management
  • Some experience in program & process design would be advantageous
