Job description

A South Australian Government agency is seeking an experienced Policy & Project Officer (ASO7) to join a small, high‑performing team within a fast‑paced office environment.

This role is ideal for a policy professional with strong project experience in human services and rights‑based settings, particularly within mental health and/or disability, who can manage competing priorities and deliver high‑quality outcomes under tight timeframes.

About the Role

Working as part of a small and busy team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of policy and project initiatives, providing high‑level advice and analysis to support organisational and statutory objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high‑level policy advice within a human services and rights‑based framework
  • Support the planning, delivery and monitoring of policy and project initiatives
  • Prepare high‑quality briefings, reports, correspondence and written advice
  • Undertake strategic analysis, research and stakeholder consultation
  • Manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment
  • Work collaboratively while exercising initiative and sound judgement
About You

You will demonstrate:
  • Significant experience in policy and/or project roles, ideally within mental health, disability or broader human services
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • High‑level written communication and report‑writing capability
  • Excellent organisation, prioritisation and multitasking skills
  • The ability to work effectively within a small, busy government office
Experience working within the South Australian public sector or a statutory environment will be highly regarded.
