Our state government client are seeking experienced Biosecurity Officer(s) for an exciting project in Karratha and Dampier, WA.
Start: ASAP (preferably next 2 weeks)
Pay: Candidates will be put forward at the rate of their choosing based on market rates and experience
Location: Karratha and Dampier
Duration: Until February 2024 with strong likelihood of extension
Type: Temporary casual contract
Biosecurity Officer (L3) and Senior Biosecurity Officer (L4)
Lead the sustainable development of Western Australia’s regions and agriculture, aquaculture, food and fisheries sectors. In everything we do, we take an approach to protect, grow and innovate WA’s economy, community and environment.
About the roles:
As a Biosecurity Officer (L3), you will play a crucial role in preventing and managing biosecurity risks. Your work will have a direct impact on protecting animals, plants, agriculture, and aquatic environments from pests and diseases.
As a Senior Biosecurity Officer (L4), you will lead the charge in preventing and managing the impact of pests and diseases on animals, plants, and ecosystems. You will provide technical knowledge and on-ground presence to manage and protect our agriculture and aquatic resources and strengthen WA’s biosecurity status.
We are looking for individuals with:
Passionate about the prevention and management of biosecurity risks.
Experience undertaking field, regulatory, surveillance, and/or inspection activities.
Certificate III in Agriculture or equivalent (Desirable criteria).
Demonstrated experience in compliance and investigations is desirable.
Requirements:
Full working rights within Australia
Able to obtain a clean National Police Clearance (dated within 3 months)
Previous experience and/or studies in biodiversity
