DFP Recruitment is seeking a Data Centre Technician for one of our large government organisation. This role will assist in the management of data centres, communications rooms and all associated infrastructure, ensuring the timely response and rectification work of all activities.

DFP Recruitment is seeking a Data Centre Technician for one of our large government organisation. This role will assist in the management of data centres, communications rooms and all associated infrastructure, ensuring the timely response and rectification work of all activities.
Primary purpose of the role.
- Assist with the design and implementation of data centres, communications rooms and the ICT infrastructure supporting these environments.
- Manage the data centres and communications facilities infrastructure.
- Manage and maintain the enterprise uninterruptible power supply (UPS) fleet, air conditioning and generators relating to communications rooms across facilities.
- Undertake and supervise daily operational and environmental checks of data centres and ICT facilities including maintaining team procedural documentation.
- Manage and assist with all activities associated with backup and recovery procedures including storage media management.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of data centre and communications ICT infrastructure including security and environmental controls, power, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units, generators, air conditioning and structured data cabling.
- Demonstrated knowledge in the design and implementation of data centres, communications rooms and ICT infrastructure.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of backup and data recovery procedures including storage media management.
- Experience in using data centre infrastructure management (DCIM), systems monitoring and/or data backup and restoration products would be advantageous but not essential.
- Knowledge of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework would be desirable.
