Job description

The Position
 
This position is responsible for the oversight and coordination of the Reef Program redevelopment and upgrade. This includes coordination of project components, a working group, and external contractors to deliver the business requirements through the database and associated app program.
 
We are looking for a suitably experienced Program Manager to actively coordinate the redevelopment, engage with a diverse program team to define and finalise the redevelopment, negotiate contract variations, lead a cross-agency Agile way of working and lead the delivery of the dependent app upgrades.
 
This position will work across the section and with external delivery partners to capture and monitor business processes, guiding effective project management and ensuring appropriate contract management, record keeping and high-level reporting to Senior Management. This will include management of the governance structures, secretariat, contract management and mentoring.

Duties
  • Lead the upgrade and redevelopment of the Eye on the Reef database in a dynamic environment to deliver a contemporary, fit for purpose, online system that meet deadlines and achieves organisational goals.
  • Coordinate the upgrade of public facing Eye on the Reef applications that can be used on mobile devices by the public and Agency staff.
  • Provide the Program governance structure to coordinate inputs in accordance with the Program project plan including the business and procurement activities such as contract negotiations, variations, budget management, contractor and specification requirements.
  • Lead the coordination of a cross-agency team to define business requirements and troubleshoot solutions. 
  • Coordinate release of the redeveloped system, develop communication options and represent the Reef Authority with stakeholders and service providers through coordination, facilitation and presenting at meetings and workshops.
Essential requirements
  • Project, contract and/or program management experience with technology based outcomes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Australian Government’s procurement rules.
Desirable
  • Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) in marine science, web development, natural resource management, or other relevant field.
