Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced EL1 Project Manager to join their National Program Delivery team for a 12 month period, with a specific focus on the Medicines Safety Program.
The Department is responsible for shaping the future of healthcare by designing and delivering digital health solutions that improve the safety, quality and efficiency of Australia’s health system.
In this leadership role, you will operate under the broad direction of the Director to manage day to day delivery of complex and high impact digital health projects. You will serve as a key link between the Director and project teams, ensuring alignment of goals, operational efficiency and continuous improvement throughout the lifecycle of projects.

- Lead the delivery of national digital health projects within the Medicines Safety Program.
- Exercise sound judgement and provide high-level advice on strategic, operational and policy matters.
- Coordinate complex and/or sensitive projects that have strategic, political or operational significance.
- Build and manage strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders across government, industry, and healthcare.
- Drive engagement, consultation and negotiation to resolve challenges and deliver impactful outcomes.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement in project management practices and program delivery frameworks.
- Mentor and guide project teams, potentially managing one or more work units.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects or programs in a public sector or health-related environment.
- Exceptional leadership, problem solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive issues and influence key stakeholders across diverse settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaboration and results.
- Capacity to quickly acquire and apply business and subject matter knowledge relevant to your portfolio.
- Must be an Australian Citizen
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or practical experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Medication management solutions
- Pathology
- Diagnostic imaging
- Aged care
- Allied health
- Training, education, or change management
