Full Stack Developer
 
Initial contract: Jan - Sept 2026
Front-end focused position
Brisbane Central – Hybrid

DFP Recruitment is currently looking for a Full Stack Web Application Developer to support a State Government client. The project involves building a highly secure, scalable, and resilient web application using Next.js, Spring Boot 3, Java 21+, and deploying it on Azure App Services.
 
Role responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, responsive UIs using React and Next.js.
  • Utilise Next.js features: SSR, SSG, ISR, and API routes to optimise performance.
  • Develop dynamic routing and middleware for robust application flows. 
  • Deploy and manage Next.js applications on Azure App Services or Azure Static Web Apps.
  • Optimise application performance with Azure CDN, Application Gateway, and Monitor.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Integrate securely with RESTful APIs using Fetch or Axios.
  • Implement authentication and authorisation via TUO, OAuth 2.0, JWT, or Azure AD.
  • Build pixel-perfect, responsive interfaces for desktop, tablet, and mobile.
  • Use Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, or Styled Components.
  • Manage application state using Redux, Zustand, or React Query.
  • Configure and optimise builds with Webpack, Vite, or esbuild.
  • Leverage Azure services including AKS, Azure Functions, and Azure Storage as needed.
  • Write and maintain automated tests using Jest, React Testing Library, and Cypress/Playwright.
  • Build frontend-agnostic, well-documented APIs. Collaborate with cloud architects for Azure deployments and optimisation.
  • Ensure highly available, fault-tolerant backend services on Azure.
  • Optimise performance, harden security, and ensure system resilience.
 
Skills
  • 8+ years of professional experience in full-stack development using Java (21+) and Spring Boot 3
  • Strong experience building RESTful APIs using Spring Boot
  • Solid understanding of Spring Security for authentication and authorization
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and modern frontend development using React and Next.js
  • Strong knowledge of Next.js features, including routing, SSR/SSG, API routes, and performance optimization
  • Experience implementing modern UI/UX principles with a focus on usability and accessibility
  • Hands-on experience with responsive design using CSS frameworks and styling libraries
  • Experience with ORM frameworks such as JPA and Hibernate
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and data modeling.
  • Proficiency with Git or equivalent version control systems. Experience with Microsoft Azure services
