  • Hybrid opportunity in Barangaroo, Sydney
  • Initial 12 months contract with possibility of extension
  • $76/hour - $86/hour + superannuation (depending upon experience)
Are you an experienced Health & Safety Advisor with a passion for promoting safer work practices and enhancing wellbeing?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a Wellbeing, Health & Safety team in Sydney. As a Wellbeing, Health & Safety Advisor, you will support the Wellbeing, Health & Safety Manager in implementing and advancing safer work environments across the Pacific Region. Your role will focus on ensuring a workplace that prioritizes the health, safety, and well-being of all colleagues, contractors, clients, and visitors. This involves facilitating WHS strategies, delivering training programs, and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
 
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Providing expert advice on accident prevention, hazard identification, and risk management across multiple sites.
  • Conducting proactive risk assessments and inspections to identify and address unsafe conditions.
  • Developing and delivering training programs to enhance awareness and compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Maintaining effective communication with Wellbeing, Health, and Safety Committees, providing regular updates on safety activities and legislative changes.
  • Coordinating quarterly Committee meetings, performing secretariat duties, and organizing professional development opportunities.
  • Managing inspections, evaluating safety equipment, and implementing safety procedures across sites.
  • Assisting with Board Reporting and maintaining WHS registers.
  • Investigating serious incidents and liaising with leadership, HR, and regulatory officers on rehabilitation and return-to-work programs.
  • Conducting routine safety inspections, ensuring continuous improvement in WHS processes, and participating in audits.
You will Have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or a related field.
  • Proven experience in WHS advisory roles with a strong understanding of legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and advise effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in complex situations.
  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating across various departments.
  • Current driver’s license and willingness to travel between work sites.
