Senior Procurement Officer
Location: Perth CBD
Start Date: ASAP – 3 months possible 6 month contract, full time hours
Hourly rate: $60-$65 per hour + super. Temporary casual contract (no leave entitlements – casual loading included in rate)
Are you an experienced procurement professional with a strong background in government contracting and a passion for delivering high-quality procurement services? We’re looking for a Senior Procurement Officer to join our state government client and lead key procurement and contract management activities.
About the Role
As the Senior Procurement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating contracts across facilities, fleet, accommodation, and procurement. You’ll work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders to develop and oversee semi-complex to high-risk contracts, ensuring compliance and efficiency in all procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities
Contracts Management
- Provide expert consultancy and solution-based advice on contract preparation for supplies and services.
- Maintain an accurate and accessible database of all procurement contracts.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external procurement policies and guidelines.
- Prepare reports on contract status and details as required.
- Lead innovative procurement and competitive tendering processes, including specification development and purchase order approvals.
- Oversee the certification of purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices prior to payment.
- Manage office facilities and implement approved improvements.
- Liaise with Fleet and Building Managers to resolve issues related to vehicles and building services.
- Maintain the Assets Register and ensure the validity of maintenance agreements.
- Monitor security and safety requirements for building and facility management.
- Extensive experience in government procurement and contract management.
- Demonstrated experience with Tenders WA.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong knowledge of government procurement policies, guidelines, and practices.
- Experience with accounting systems and asset management.
- Understanding of broader government procurement processes.
