About the Opportunity:  
Our client is seeking an experienced Skills instructor in the Forestry industry to join their team. As an industry expert with experience in machine and forest plant operation, you’ll play a crucial role in delivering programs and assessment on Excavator, Feller Buncher, Dozer, Mechanical Processor, Log Truck, Loaders, Skidder, Forwarder and chainsaw and tree falling.

The Position:
As a Skills instructor Forestry, you will deliver theory work in a classroom environment and practical out in the field. There will be administration work including assessments and date entry that is mandatory for the role. You will predominately be delivering training to organisations requiring their employees to receive the licence for current job purposes. This role is based in Kalimna with some travel and involves the following responsibilities:
 
- Present face to face training sessions in a classroom environment
- Share specialist knowledge and experience with students
- Demonstrate practical skills in simulated workplace environments
- Engage students to facilitate optimal learning outcomes
- Accurately observe, document and assess students work
 
About You: 
The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following qualities:
 
- Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Exceptional time management and adaptability
- Willingness to learn and develop professionally 
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment TAE40122 or equivalent (if not held on commencement, qualification must be completed within agreed timeframe. Sponsorship will be provided for all associated costs)
- Industrial experience in the areas of Forest Plant Operations particularly in Mechanical Harvesting and Process Machinery.
- Ideally hold Plant accreditations: Harvester, Processor, Excavator, Skidder, Dozer.
-Knowledge and skills in Hazard Tree identification, Operating 4x4 on unsealed roads, Basic to advance Felling and Trim and Cut Felled Tree (FWPCOT2273)
 
Mandatory Requirements:
 
-Current Victorian Working with Children Clearance (or can obtain)
-Current Police Check (not older than 12 months old)
-Current Driver’s License (some travel between campuses is a requirement of the role)
