Our client is a leading technology company that delivers a complete portfolio of ICT solutions and services to large enterprise, small business and government customers. 

The Opportunity
The Systems Engineer role is based in Canberra on a permanent basis. As a System Engineer you shall will utilise strong analytical skills/debugging techniques and structured analysis to troubleshoot and resolve service issues through structured fault-finding techniques. The Systems Engineer will perform root causes analysis of problems and action Change and Problem requests. We are looking for both Junior System engineer who are looking to take the next step in their development and senior System Engineers those with up to 5+ years’ experience for these roles.

Duties includes:

  • Regularly perform a health check of the application/servers.
  • Liaising with 3rd party vendors and ensure server infrastructure standards, architectural and design requirements are maintained eg, standard SOE and Group Policies.
  • Analyse/document the new requests for changes by clients and estimated for the project to be scoped appropriately.
  • Monitor the support inbox and mange the service requests and investigate incidents raised by clients.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve backup software, application, system and peripheral issues.
  • Configure, install and decommissioning of servers, including peripherals.
  • Mange the installing, uninstalling and configuring software and applications.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving server software, application, system and peripheral issues
Required Skills and Experience
  • Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or similar
  • ITIL Foundation certified and understanding of ITSM tools such as Remedy
  • 3 + years in relevant domain support and troubleshooting, with design and project management experience desirable
  • Good knowledge of other backup technologies and tools
  • High Level of communication and interpersonal skills and ability to understand technical issues and clearly articulate solutions to clients
  • Ability to quickly comprehend system architecture
  • Ability to analyse problems and quickly identify solutions
Remuneration will be based on experience.To be considered in this role, you will need to hold a current NV1 or above to be successful.
