Job description

Client:                                             Technology (content creation, gaming, entertainment) business
Hours:                                            full-time (40 hours per week)
Location:                                       Macquarie Park, Sydney/WFH (hybrid – after an initial onboarding period)
Start Date:                                    early January start, interviewing ASAP
Duration:                                       6 months + extension/s
Pay Rate:                                       $500 per day + GST
Checks:                                          full working rights in Australia, references, police check
 
Key Accountabilities:
  • Offer leadership and strategic direction to the technical team
  • Oversee administration, configuration and maintenance of Windows Server operating systems
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and other core Windows services
  • Ensure the security, availability, and scalability of Windows-based systems
  • Manage and optimise the Office 365 environment, including Exchange Online, Sharepoint, Teams and related services
  • Monitor and enforce security and compliance policies in Office 365
  • Collaborate with end-users to provide support and training on Office 365 tools
  • Lead the planning, deployment, and ongoing management of Azure infrastructure and services
  • Implement best practices for resource management, cost optimisation, and security in Azure
  • Drive automation initiatives using scripting and orchestration tools (e.g. PowerShell, Azure Automation)
  • Continuously identify opportunities for infrastructure optimisation and cost saving
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, configurations and procedures, and report regularly on system performance, utilisation, and compliance
 
Candidate Profile:
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Senior System Engineer, managing Windows-based systems, Office 365 environment, with Azure cloud infrastructure – including maintaining comprehensive documentation and reporting
  • Highly developed grasp of ITIL methodology expertise
  • Strong customer-service orientation, with exceptional communication skills
  • The successful candidate must be comfortable with working in shifts
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Azure Automation)
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. MCSE, MCSA, AZ-900, AZ-104, or similar)
