Job Title: Safety Advisor – Major Projects
Employer: DFP Recruitment client
Position Type: 6 month Casual Temporary Contract
Pay Rate: Competitive
Location: East Perth, WA 6004
Role Overview:  To provide operational Safety, Health and Wellbeing advice working within a high-risk directorate for the client

Key Responsibilities;
  • Assist with Risk Assessments and review and update risk registers.
  • Safety Incident Consultation and Investigations (review of contractor safety incidents).
  • Assist with the review of Safety Management and Safety Improvement Plans.
  • Assist with the review of Standard Operating Procedures, Safe Work Instructions and Job Safety Analysis.
  • Produce monthly Safety Reporting Dashboards.
  • Collate the Monthly Safety Indicators (MSI) reports.
  • Update and maintain the audit schedule for active construction contracts.
  • Undertake or attend site inspections as required.
  • Risk Assessing and progressing low level safety incidents in the event reporting system (EQsafe).
  • Assist with the Directorate Safety Initiatives (Safety Improvement Actions, Meeting Actions, General Improvements, Training, etc).
 
Essential to be successful in this role:  
  • Sound knowledge of safety systems with proactive approach when dealing with issues.
  • Experience in carrying out Quality and Safety Audits including preparation of review documentation post audit.
  • Current valid NPC or ability to obtain one
 
Desirable:  
  • A diploma in Work Health and Safety or related discipline.
  • Experience in safety role in a civil construction environment.
  • Experience in EQ Safe or INX platform.
