Job description

Senior Python Developer
Duration: 12 Months contract with possible extension
Location: Canberra
Security Clearance: Must be an Australian citizen.
 
DFP Recruitment is hiring a Senior Python Developer for one of the Federal government Client.
Senior Developers with significant experience with Python and a solid background in software engineering. The right candidate will work with the existing software engineering team to build new cybersecurity capability and enhance the maintainability of the existing code base.

Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Ensuring that CHIPs technical functionality is delivered on-time and to specifications.
  • Writing code to deliver the technical functionality.
  • Supporting, guiding, and mentoring other developers in the development process.
  • Planning and implementation for future CHIPs capabilities.
  • Developing software engineering technical artefacts
 
Skills
  • Leading a team of developers.
  • Using software engineering tools.
  • Developing using the Python programming language
  • Implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Developing using the Bash shell and associated scripting language
  • Deploying code using Linux containers.
  • Using and managing AWS cloud services.
  • Developing a system using database products (such as PostgreSQL),
  • Developing a system using messaging products (such as RabbitMQ).
  • Experience with Cloud IaaS services.
  • Knowledge about Linux Containers and Cloud security best practice
Additional Requirements:
  • Australian citizenship with Baseline Clearance is mandatory.
  • Must be available to work 5 days per week (approximately 40 hours) in the office (onsite).
