Job Title: Test Analyst
Contract Duration: 12 Months

About the Role:


Join a dynamic team within the Data and Analytics Branch supporting a federal government agency. This branch is dedicated to delivering high-quality data and reporting, aiming to translate insights into measurable business performance improvements. As part of a centralised team, you will focus on future process improvement, effective data delivery, and building data literacy across various regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Test Plans in alignment with the Test Strategy, project release plan, and delivery methodology.
  • Create Test Cases based on requirements and design documents, detailing test steps, data requirements, prerequisites, and success criteria.
  • Conduct functional testing based on documented Test Cases.
  • Support and assist testers in executing tests against Test Cases.
  • Author necessary test plans, test summary reports, and test progress reports.
  • Provide daily and weekly status reports for testing activities.
  • Coordinate with Application Developers, Business Analysts, Test Analysts, SMEs, and third-party vendors to review test artefacts and defects, ensuring quick review and resolution.
  • Facilitate defect triage meetings.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Experience as a Test Lead or Senior Test Analyst on Cloud Data Lake or Data Warehouse implementations.
  • Proficiency in reconciling large datasets to confirm source-to-target reconciliation, explaining any differences identified.
  • Expertise with JIRA, Confluence, and contemporary testing tools such as X-Ray.
  • High data literacy with a strong curiosity to explore and understand data.
  • Ability to query datasets using intermediate to advanced SQL skills and other common scripting languages.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
